Jadon Sancho skips Dortmund game in order to force through a move to Man Utd

Jadon Sancho is reportedly not ill and has skipped the club’s DFL Super Cup game with Bayern Munich in order to force through Manchester United transfer.

The England international was absent from Dortmund’s 20-man squad that flew to Munich on Tuesday with the German side claiming ‘respiratory’ problems was the reason for his absence.

However, Norwegian outlet Dagbladet claim Sancho was left out of the team because the former Manchester City star is attempting to speed up a move to Old Trafford.

Sancho has already agreed personal terms with United but Dortmund have maintained the 20-year-old will not be allowed to leave after the Red Devils failed to meet their asking price.

However, the fact that talks continue suggest a deal could still happen and after staying out of talks, Sancho seems to now be taking matters into his own hands.

Sancho used a similar tactic when he wanted to leave Manchester City for Dortmund in 2017 and Pep Guardiola eventually agreed to his exit as their relationship broke down.

United are believed to have made an offer of around £91m for Sancho this week, though it is still unclear as to whether the bid was sent directly to Dortmund or through an intermediary.

Either way, the offer is not close to Dortmund’s asking price for the winger and it was turned down.

However, Dagbladat claim Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has remained in regular contact with Sancho and the duo even spoke again this week.

Manchester United are now running out of time to complete the deal, particularly given the size of the transfer move.

And, Alex Telles is expected to move to United before the transfer window closes but there remains distance between Porto’s £18m asking price and the Red devils’ £12m valuation of the defender.
