Jorginho has dropped a major hint that Kai Havertz’s £65m transfer to Arsenal is imminent after a cheeky selfie on social media.
Havertz is on the verge of swapping Chelsea for the Emirates, just as Jorginho did during the January transfer window.
The German star is desperately wanted by Mikel Arteta, despite three mixed seasons at Stamford Bridge.
And it appears that Arteta won’t have to wait long until he can start coaching Havertz, with Jorginho sharing a selfie alongside him on Sunday.
Attending the wedding of Chelsea keeper Kepa Arrizabalaga in Marbella, Jorginho posed with the 24-year-old, and captioned the snap with three sets of eyes & a laughing emoji.
What’s added to the situation is a tweet from Havertz, where he’s seen standing with Mateo Kovacic.
Kovacic is also set to leave Chelsea in the coming days and sign for Manchester City. In his tweet, Havertz added as the caption: “We’re ready @mateokovacic8.”
Fans of both clubs took the hint, with one Chelsea fan making it clear that he won’t miss the Germany international ahead of his exit. “He knows exactly what he’s doing with this and there’s no chance it’s a coincidence now,” they tweeted. “£65million for someone with 19 goals in 91 Premier League appearances.”
Indeed Havertz’s price tag has been critiqued, with former Aston Villa star Gabriel Agbonlahor saying: “I don’t understand that transfer. It’s very strange.
“Arsenal haven’t learned their lesson with transfers. Kai Havertz is not a clinical striker.
“He isn’t an out-and-out number nine, which what Arsenal need as they currently have Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah but require an upgrade on them. Havertz hasn’t got that finishing instinct, so it is very strange from Arsenal if they are going to give £50-£60m to Chelsea, so they can then sign a player that the Gunners want in Moises Caicedo.”
