Over the years, Kane has played alongside some of the game’s elite, including Wayne Rooney, Gareth Bale, Manuel Neuer, and Thomas Muller.
Yet, the English star singled out Argentina legend and Inter Miami sensation Lionel Messi as a player he would have loved the chance to play alongside.
Speaking to ESPN, he explained: “I’d love to play with Messi. One of the greatest players to ever play our game. “I’m sure he’d be able to give me a few assists!”
Kane may have picked Messi over Cristiano Ronaldo as his ideal teammate, but in a different interview with ESPN, he admitted that both players were key sources of inspiration and motivation for him on his journey to becoming one of the world’s top strikers.
“I think of what they’ve done, they are as good in their 30s as they were in their 20s.
“Me just turning 30 now, it obviously gives me excitement to know if I keep my body in good shape, and I keep my mentality right, I could be playing at the highest level for as long as I want to do it.
“Those players have set the bar – those and a few others as well. It just motivates me and tells me that it’s possible [to keep playing].
“It is great watching those players still performing, two of the greatest players ever to play our game.”
Messi has shown impressive form for Inter Miami as they advance in Major League Soccer.
On the other hand, Ronaldo has found the net frequently since leaving European football for the Saudi Professional League at the end of 2023.
As for Kane, he has tallied 17 goals and nine assists in 15 appearances across all competitions for Bayern in the 2024/25 season.
