Jurgen Klopp names strongest team in the Premier League

Jurgen Klopp praised three key Liverpool players in anticipation of Saturday’s significant match against Arsenal, a team he considers “probably the strongest” in the Premier League.

Following a dominant 5-1 victory over West Ham in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday, Liverpool advances to the semi-finals with standout performances from multiple players.

The upcoming challenge for Klopp’s team is a top-flight clash against title rivals Arsenal, presenting an opportunity for second-placed Liverpool to surpass the league leaders with a victory.

Liverpool and Arsenal seem to be among the top contenders for the Premier League title this season, and Klopp anticipates a challenging match against the Gunners.

‘We feel good after that game [against West Ham] of course but we know we are going to play probably the strongest team in the Premier League, Arsenal,’ Klopp told the BBC.

‘They are really physically strong. They didn’t get worse with Declan [Rice] in the team, let me say it like that!

‘Really strong and it will be a difficult and different game and we have to make sure it is difficult for Arsenal as well.

‘I am looking forward to it. Maybe Ryan [Gravenberch] will be back. Besides that, it is not a full squad that we have. But now going through these games, we are back on track.’

Klopp singled out three players for praise after Liverpool’s Carabao Cup quarter-final win as he added: ‘Harvey Elliott and Jarrell Quansah and Joe Gomez – players that don’t get the focus all the time – they did well.’

However, Klopp desires an even greater performance from Curtis Jones despite his two goals in the victory over West Ham.

‘I’m really happy for him because the skill-set he has immense but sometimes he forgets to speed the game up,’ Klopp told Sky Sports.

‘Especially the second goal, it is exactly what Curtis can do. He has this speed, this tempo, and he doesn’t use it often enough.

‘It’s what we tell him quite frequently but tonight he did it. Hopefully that’s an eye-opener for him and a possibility for me as well.’
