Jesse Lingard’s brother hits out at Man Utd after failed Newcastle move

Jesse Lingard’s brother has aimed a dig at Manchester United for refusing to let the England international join Newcastle.

Lingard wants to leave United before the end of the January transfer window but they are refusing to budge during negotiations.

Newcastle are willing to cover Lingard’s £75,000-a-week salary in full, as well as pay the Red devils a £2.5 million loan fee to sign the midfielder for the rest of the season.

But United are also demanding a huge £12m fee if Newcastle avoid relegation from the Premier League.

However, Newcastle are unwilling to meet United’s clause and the deal, which would cost the club £1m a week, looks very unlikely to happen before Monday’s deadline unless the demands are lowered.

Lingard is believed to be shocked by United’s handling of the situation as he has made it clear he wants to leave the club.

And Lingard’s brother has now taken aim at United on Instagram with a post of his brother during his time at West Ham last year with the message: ‘A year ago today we was ‘allowed’ out on day release. ‘Now we know what Akon felt like’.

Lingard will become a free agent in the summer when his contract with the club finally ends.

But the English star is keen to secure regular playing time to help his push to secure a place in England’s World Cup squad later this year.

Lingard is also reported to be unhappy with Ralf Rangnick after a video surfaced of the United head coach telling a fan the midfielder ‘will leave in the summer anyway’.

Lingard is yet to start any game in the Premier League this campaign.
