Instead, Messi believes that the most lethal striker in history is the other Ronaldo. The former Brazilian star, known for his goal-scoring prowess, won numerous honours, including two World Cups and two Ballons d’Or.

During his career, he netted 414 goals in 616 appearances for club and country. Although injuries limited his achievements, today’s forwards still model their play after him.

Ronaldo won five trophies for Brazil, including two FIFA World Cups in 1994 and 2002. In the 2002 tournament, he was the top scorer, earning the Golden Boot with eight goals.

Ronaldo’s goals were a crucial factor in Brazil’s success. In a 2019 interview with TyC Sports, Messi praised Ronaldo’s legacy.
