Luis Figo picks the best between Cristiano Ronaldo & Ronaldo Nazario after playing with both

Luis Figo, a football legend, had the privilege of playing alongside some of the biggest stars in the sport, putting him in a unique position to compare Cristiano Ronaldo and Ronaldo Nazario (R9).

Not many players can boast having shared the field with nearly all the greats of the modern era, but Figo is an exception. Now, he has weighed in on the ongoing debate between the two Ronaldos…Continue Reading

Figo’s controversial transfers between Barcelona and Real Madrid may have stirred tension among fans, but it also allowed the Portuguese star to play alongside a range of football legends.

Figo is part of an elite group of players fortunate enough to have teamed up with both the Brazilian Ronaldo and the Portuguese Ronaldo. Naturally, this leads to questions about which of the two was better.

While Cristiano Ronaldo is widely regarded as one of the top two players of his generation, Ronaldo Nazario was undeniably one of the best strikers of the 1990s and early 2000s.

In a recent interview with Shoot For Love, Figo was asked to put his experience to the test and choose between the two football icons.

He said: “It is difficult, like when you pick between your father and mother it is difficult. To pick between Cristiano and Ronaldo… maybe I can pick one leg off each?”

Even someone like Figo, who has seen firsthand what both Ronaldos are capable of, seems unable to choose between them.

Cristiano Ronaldo, at 39, has proven to be an enduring force, with an ability to produce game-changing moments out of thin air during his prime.

On the other hand, Ronaldo Nazario is undeniably one of the most instinctive and prolific strikers in football history. Few players could match his composure and skill when faced with a one-on-one situation.

If anyone could definitively settle the debate, it would be R9 himself. The Brazilian icon once named his top eight players of all time, including himself but notably leaving out Cristiano.

Perhaps Figo’s answer is the best: a combination of the two Ronaldos would create an unbeatable player.
