This news will likely excite admirers of Gyokeres, including Arsenal and Manchester United, as the figure is significantly lower than his reported £83.6m release clause.
The talented forward has garnered interest from some of Europe’s elite clubs, following his impressive form in Portugal since joining Sporting CP from Coventry City. Coventry still retains a sell-on clause, which ensures the player won’t be sold cheaply.
A summer transfer seems increasingly likely for the 26-year-old. According to Sky Germany, Arsenal, Liverpool, and Chelsea have been made aware of the agreement, as has Manchester City.

Notably, Sporting’s sporting director Hugo Viana is set to join Manchester City this summer, adding another layer to the speculation.
Last month, Sporting’s president Frederico Varandas downplayed the possibility of Gyokeres leaving the club. Varandas remained tight-lipped when asked about the striker’s future, adding intrigue to the developing situation.
“Gyokeres was leaving in the summer, a year ago, a year and a half ago…” he said. “Gyokeres was going to leave, anyway. We were champions and he was already leaving.”
“In January it was impossible and it remained so,” he added. “I’m not going to add to it, it’s already very media-driven and it’s not worth talking about the summer market.”
According to Portuguese publication *A Bola*, Gyokeres is reportedly leaning towards a move to Liverpool, Arsenal, or Manchester City rather than Manchester United as he prepares for an “inevitable” summer departure.
This preference comes despite his prior connection with Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim.
Meanwhile, Jon Dahl Tomasson, Gyokeres’ coach during his international duties with Sweden, has expressed confidence in the striker’s ability to thrive wherever his next chapter takes him.
“Gyokeres would be fantastic in the Premier League,” he said ahead of Sweden’s match against Northern Ireland on Tuesday night.
“He could play for any club in the world and he would score a lot of goals anywhere. Him and [Alexander] Isak are two quite different players, but they’re both world-class strikers.”
Gyokeres has scored 40 goals in 41 games this season after racking up 43 goals in 50 outings in 2023/24.
