Man Utd dealt Eduardo Camavinga blow as Rennes ‘laugh’ at proposed bid

Camavinga

Manchester United’s hopes of signing Eduardo Camavinga have been dashed after Rennes laughed at their proposal, according to reports.

Camavinga is regarded as one of the most exciting youngsters in Ligue 1 after bursting onto the scene in the 2019/20 campaign.

The midfielder – who made his senior France debut last year – has only one year left on his contract with Rennes.

This has prompted speculation over his future, with PSG linked with Camavinga while Real Madrid and United keep tabs on the situation.

Recent reports suggested United were in pole position to sign the 18-year-old, with Rennes willing to accept a £25.7m bid.

But a fresh update has rubbished this claim, as Get French Football claim they were met with laughter from a source at Rennes when they asked about the team accepting such a low offer.

Meanwhile, Rennes manager Bruno Genesio admits a decision must be reached regarding Camavinga as soon as possible.

The Feench side cannot risk losing their talent for nothing next summer, and Genesio appeared to hint at an exit last week.

“We have already stressed several times that we cannot afford to remain in this situation concerning an international player like him,” said the Frenchman.

“It’s part of a career to have important decisions to make, he has a very important one [decision] to make for his future, and we at the club also have our interests to defend.

“I hope we find a solution that everyone is satisfied with.”
