Man Utd preparing for Casemiro transfer after Ten Hag gets ruthless with star

Manchester United are reportedly bracing for a transfer approach from Galatasaray, as the Turkish giants plan a move for Brazilian midfielder Casemiro.

The midfielder endured a nightmare performance in Manchester United’s 3-0 Premier League loss to Liverpool on Sunday, leading to his substitution at halftime as manager Erik ten Hag made a decisive change.

Casemiro had an impressive first season at Old Trafford after joining from Real Madrid in a £70 million deal in 2022. However, his form sharply declined last season, including a humiliating 4-0 defeat to Crystal Palace in early May….

Over the summer, Casemiro was linked with a potential move to Saudi Arabia as United considered the possibility of selling the 32-year-old.

Despite the rumors, he remained at Old Trafford and started United’s first three Premier League matches this season, with the team securing only three points before the international break.

Following his poor showing against Liverpool, where he lost possession leading to both of the Merseyside club’s first-half goals, there is speculation that Ten Hag may reconsider Casemiro’s role in the squad. According to ESPN, Galatasaray is contemplating a move for the player.

The Turkish club, led by former Inter Milan star Okan Buruk, is in search of a new midfielder and has identified Casemiro as a potential target.

However, his £300,000 per week salary could be a significant obstacle, and any loan deal may depend on whether United is willing to cover a portion of his wages.

Manchester United was open to offers for Casemiro throughout the summer, but the anticipated interest from the Saudi Pro League never materialized.

With the Turkish transfer window open until September 13, Galatasaray has the opportunity to sign the Brazilian this month rather than waiting until January if they can reach an agreement with United.

Galatasaray, currently competing in the Europa League, boasts several former Premier League players in their squad, including Hakim Ziyech, Davinson Sanchez, and Michy Batshuayi.

The club also secured a loan deal for Victor Osimhen from Napoli at the end of last month after his proposed move to Chelsea fell through.

Ten Hag was quizzed about Casemiro following United’s defeat against Liverpool. And the Dutchman explained: “I met him after the game in the dressing room, so he didn’t leave the stadium at half-time.

“Why I subbed him was because we are 2-0 down against an opponent as Liverpool, with their qualities, they are very good.

“I think that in football everyone has to take responsibility. I’m sure he is a great character and he won everything in his career that you can imagine. I am sure he will keep contributing to our team and Casemiro is always winning so he will be there.”
