Man Utd to ‘pull the plug’ on Osimhen deal with two major concerns revealed

Manchester United have two big concerns over signing Victor Osimhen aside from his transfer fee and could pull the plug on a transfer move for the Napoli striker.

Osimhen is on the radar of a number of top European clubs including United, Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain after an impressive season with Napoli.

The Nigeria international has scored 28 goals in all competitions, including an equaliser in the recent 1-1 draw with Udinese, to help the club win their first Serie A title in 33 years.

The Red Devils have been strongly linked with a move for Osimhen as they continue their search for a replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo, who left Old Trafford in November.

And Erik ten Hag is keen to sign a new striker this summer window, with Tottenham striker Harry Kane also on their summer transfer list.

While United are reported to be ‘big admirers’ of Osimhen, Football Insider claim the club are now ready to pull out of the race to sign the forward.

It is believed that Napoli will demand more than £100m for Osimhen, with Manchester United unwilling to sanction the deal in the summer.

According to Football Insider, ‘a source with knowledge of the situation’ says United are ‘concerned’ about Osimhen’s lack of experience in the Premier League.

It is also believed that the striker’s injury record ‘has been scrutinised by recruitment chiefs’ at the club, with Osimhen missing up to nine matches with muscle problems this campaign.

Osimhen conceded this season that he “dreams” of playing in England. “I think playing in one of the top five leagues in the world (Serie A) is an amazing feeling for me,” he said.

“A lot of people worldwide consider the Premier League as the best and the strongest league but now I’m in one of the best leagues in the world which is the Italian Serie A.

“I’m working so hard to make sure that I achieve my dream of playing in the Premier League some day but like I said, it’s a process and I just want to keep on this momentum and continue to do well.”

If Man United pull out of the race to sign Osimhem, it would leave Chelsea in the position to sign the striker.
