Jeremie Frimpong, a standout player for Bayer Leverkusen, has hinted at his interest in joining Liverpool, despite speculation linking him to Manchester United.
Frimpong has caught the attention of Erik ten Hag since his arrival at Old Trafford, as the manager seeks to bolster his right-back options.

The defender’s impressive performances have elevated his status, particularly this season, contributing to Leverkusen’s lead at the summit of the Bundesliga table by eight points.
Up till now, he has tallied nine goals and provided 10 assists in 28 matches across various competitions, but it’s important to highlight that he operates in an advanced position under the management of Xabi Alonso.
Manchester United are prepared to offload Aaron Wan-Bissaka this upcoming summer to finance the acquisition of the Manchester City academy graduate, who is under contract until 2028.
Arsenal have also emerged as potential suitors for the 23-year-old, particularly intrigued by the revelation of his £34 million release clause set to become active in the summer.
However, it seems that Frimpong might be leaning towards joining another Premier League team, as he was recently questioned about his interest in a transfer to Liverpool amidst speculation surrounding Alonso’s potential return to Anfield.
‘Liverpool? Great club, with history. That would be great. Who knows what the future will bring,’ he told Soccer News via Ziggo Sport.
With Leverkusen excelling and maintaining an undefeated record in all competitions this season, it’s unsurprising that Alonso, a former Reds icon, has emerged as the frontrunner to succeed Jurgen Klopp.
However, at present, both he and Frimpong remain solely concentrated on maintaining their strong start to the season and aiming for a first league title, without any distractions.
‘We haven’t lost yet this season. But yes, football is changeable, we have to keep concentration,’ the Dutch international added.
‘We all trust the coach and know we can do something big this season. We all want to win a trophy, and the coach helps with his playing style.
‘He has also worked under top trainers and can now combine those experiences himself. Everyone enjoys the playing style, but we shouldn’t think too easily.
‘Yes, we are eight points ahead, but that is nothing. Certainly not with Bayern, who have already become champions eleven times in a row.’
