The Italian manager has been straightforward in informing players when they are no longer needed, including Ben Chilwell, who also finds himself in that category.
Concerns over Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez have prompted the manager to make a transfer request to the club, but despite this, Dewsbury-Hall is definitely on his way out.
Transfermarkt notes his limited contribution of just 857 minutes across all competitions this season, with only 55 minutes coming from five Premier League appearances.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Dewsbury-Hall was informed back in December that he would be made available for transfer.
Geordie Boot Boys mention Newcastle’s potential interest in the player, and it appears to be a move that makes sense for various reasons.
At 26, Dewsbury-Hall needs regular playing time at this stage of his career. Whether as a supplementary midfielder to Newcastle’s current lineup or as a replacement, he would bring something different to Eddie Howe’s squad.
Howe, known for his preference for working with young English players, would likely boost Dewsbury-Hall’s confidence, positively impacting his performance.
Ultimately, the player faces a decision if the Magpies or any other club expresses interest. As Chilwell experienced in the first half of the campaign, if a player doesn’t fit into the manager’s plans, progressing under him becomes challenging.
While Dewsbury-Hall’s ego might take a hit, he should have the opportunity to revive his career and prove to be a valuable asset in the future.
