Kylian Mbappe snubs Real Madrid teammates when naming five ‘great’ players he’s played with

Kylian Mbappe has listed the ‘great’ teammates he has played with, but none of his current Real Madrid colleagues made the cut.

The 26-year-old moved from PSG to Madrid after his contract with the Ligue 1 club expired at the end of the 2023/24 season.

The 2018 World Cup winner has had a mixed start at Los Blancos, boasting impressive stats with 12 goals in 22 competitive matches. ..Continue Reading

However, he faced criticism from some fans due to poor performances in the 4-0 home loss to Barcelona and the 2-0 Champions League defeat to Liverpool, where he missed a penalty saved by Caoimhín Kelleher.

Despite being a marquee player in Carlo Ancelotti’s team, Mbappe is joined by stars like Luka Modric, Jude Bellingham, and Vini Jr.

Yet, despite their remarkable skills and accomplishments, none of them were included in Mbappe’s list of five ‘great’ teammates.

The 26-year-old also mentioned that he wishes he could have shared the locker room with Real Madrid’s all-time leading scorer and five-time Ballon d’Or winner, Cristiano Ronaldo.

“I’ve played with great players: Lionel Messi, Neymar, [Antoine] Griezmann, [Paul] Pogba, [Karim] Benzema…” Mbappé told beIN Sports.

Mbappé formed part of the legendary PSG frontline alongside Messi and Neymar from 2021 to 2023.

Regarding Pogba, Benzema, and Griezmann, they have all been teammates with Mbappé on the international stage.

“It would have been fun to play with Cristiano Ronaldo – it’s going to be very difficult now, but I was lucky enough to play against him, a legend of the sport,” said Mbappe.

“I went to the biggest club in the world,” Mbappe added when speaking to children as part of the BeUNITED program.

“I have always said that it was the only club I would have left PSG for. “If I hadn’t been able to go to Madrid, I would have stayed at PSG all my life.”

“Since I was 14, everyone told me I was going to be great,” he explained.

“But when you’re big, sometimes you feel small…At first, I was too hungry, and it played tricks on me because I was impatient. But I have passion and this competitive side.

“My dream now is to win trophies with my team, not individual awards. What great title is left for me? The Champions League, but I’m in the best club in the world for that.”
