Lionel Messi mocked Everton defender Yerry Mina after his crucial penalty miss in Colombia’s Copa America semi-final defeat to Argentina on Tuesday night.
Argentina booked their spot in the final to play Brazil after a 3-2 shootout victory after a 1-1 draw in normal time.
Messi provided the assist for Lautaro Martinez in normal time and even came close to finding the winning goal but the game went to shootout.
Thankfully for Messi, Argentina progressed and he will now have the opportunity to win silverware with his country for the first time in his career having previously lost two Copa America finals.
Messi has Aston Villa goalkeeper Emi Martinez to thank for that after his three penalty saves, one of which was from Everton’s Mina.
Mina scored in a shootout in the last round to ensure Colombia beat Uruguay and he celebrated by sucking his thumb, despite knowing his converted penalty was not the winner in the shootout.
But the centre-back was unable to repeat his heroics in his team’s game against Argentina as he saw his penalty well saved by Martinez in the shootout.

Mina is a former team-mate of the Barcelona superstar but that didn’t stop the Argentina skipper mocking the player, as he screamed: ‘How about dancing now?’ at the Everton ace after his miss.
Argentina will now play Brazil on Saturday and the 34-year-old Messi will be hoping he can inspire his country to triumph, having also lost the 2014 World Cup final.
