Lionel Messi’s next club has been “leaked” by Sergio Aguero after he revealed their private conversation.
Paris Saint-Germain are yet to agree a new contract with Messi this campaign, with his current deal set to expire at the end of the current season.
He has previously been linked with a move to MLS team Inter Miami as well as a possible return to former club Barcelona if he was to leave Paris in the summer.
But, his first club Newell’s Old Boys, where he starred in the academy before moving to Barcelona, have now been revealed as a possible destination by Aguero.
Speaking to UOL, the former Manchester City attacker explained: “He is seriously considering the possibility of playing for Newell’s.”
Aguero’s slip of the tongue forced former Liverpool winger Maxi Rodriguez to step in and add: “Kun is Kun. He can’t keep quiet. We will see.
“It is hard to talk about this because then a giant ball of rumours is made. Let’s wait and see what happens. We will not get ahead of the facts.”

Messi is rumoured to be in line to appear in Rodriguez’s Newell’s testimonial this year, with a game scheduled to celebrate his three spells with the club.
According to reports in Argentina, the club view Messi’s appearance in the testimonial as a makeshift trial ahead of a possible move to re-sign him once his PSG contract expires.
The World Cup winner spent five years in the academy at Newell’s and was also a ball boy for the team before he joined Barcelona’s La Masia youth set-up.
Messi has been in superb form for PSG this campaign either side of his triumphant World Cup campaign, having struggled in France during his first year with the French club.
In 27 appearances this season, the 35-year-old forward has scored 16 goals and provided 14 assists, already surpassing his tally for the whole of last campaign.
