Leicester City’s Wilfred Ndidi responds to fan asking him to sign for Arsenal

Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi was quick to point out that Arsenal already have Thomas Partey when asked by a fan to join the London side.

The Nigeria international has established himself as an important player under Brendan Rodgers at the heart of Leicester’s midfield.

Ndidi has previously been linked with a transfer move to Manchester United as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer continues his search for a new defensive midfielder.

But one Arsenal supporter bumped into the 24-year-old midfielder at an event and asked the Leicester City player to join the Gunners.

But, after being asked by the Arsenal supporter, Ndidi smiled and replied: ‘You have Partey, he’s a great player.’

When the fan suggested to Nigerian star that he could partner Partey in the club’s midfield, he laughed again and replied: ‘Like [Michael] Essien and [John Obi] Mikel.’

Leicester, however, would be in a very strong negotiating position if Arsenal were to register their interest as Ndidi still has over two years left on his current contract with the Foxes.

Ndidi is currently sidelined with a hamstring injury and was even forced to pull out of the Nigeria’s squad during the current international break.

After Leicester’s 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace on Sunday, Rodgers revealed that Ndidi could be out of football action for ‘four to five weeks’.

That would mean he would be unavailable for Leicester’s upcoming Premier League matches against Manchester United and Arsenal this month.
