Gary Neville names the best manager in the world right now

Gary Neville expresses a preference for Jurgen Klopp over Pep Guardiola to lead Manchester United as the iconic managers gear up for a showdown.

With first and second places in the Premier League set to clash on Saturday, Guardiola’s Manchester City will host Klopp’s Liverpool at the Etihad.

Regarded as two of the finest managers in this era, both have overseen their teams’ dominance in English football over the past six years.

Since their tenures began, they have collectively secured six Premier League titles, two Champions League trophies, three FA Cups, and five League Cups.

While both Liverpool and Manchester City are staunch rivals of United, even the most devoted Red Devils supporters acknowledge the success and brilliance of Klopp and Guardiola.

Gary Neville, a United legend, acknowledges this fact and has now revealed his preference for the manager he would choose to lead Old Trafford.

Asked who he thought was the best manager in the world at the moment, Neville told the Daily Ketchup Podcast: ‘I’d say Jurgen Klopp.

‘Jurgen Klopp works with a budget that is far less than Pep Guardiola’s. Pep Guardiola is a genius and he’ll be one of the ones that’ll be remembered forever more.

‘But Jurgen Klopp for me is an amazing manager. If you said to me which manager would you bring into Manchester United tomorrow, it’d be Jurgen Klopp. But [Liverpool] might never let him leave!’

Neville refrained from designating United’s current manager, Erik ten Hag, as the world’s best, given the challenging start to the season that has left them seven points adrift of City in the league and at the bottom of their Champions League group.

The Red Devils aim to narrow the gap with their rivals as they journey to Everton on Sunday.
