PSG superstar Neymar has picked out Liverpool’s Thiago as one of the five players better than him from a technical standpoint.
Thiago made the move from Bayern to Anfield last summer after a successful seven-year spell in Germany over which he won seven Bundesliga titles as well as the UEFA Champions League.
The beginning of Thiago’s debut campaign for Liverpool was hampered by a knee injury, but he returned to action to show flashes of class, despite huge criticism over his displays.
But Neymar has no doubts about the player’s skillset, and when asked to pick the five players more technical than himself, he named Thiago along with Lionel Messi, Eden Hazard, De Bruyne and Verratti.
The Brazilian told Oh My Goal: ‘More technical than me? I don’t know if I can answer that!
‘With all the humility in the world, I consider myself one of the most technical players in football today.’
He added, reluctantly: ‘But I would say… Messi, Hazard, De Bruyne, Verratti, I’m still missing one? ‘More technical than me… Thiago!’

Meanwhile, in this summer’s transfer window, the Reds have been linked with a move for Hoffenheim midfielder Christoph Baumgartner after the exit of Georginio Wijnaldum.
But the 21-year-old youngster has insisted that he has no intentions of leaving the club at this moment in time.
‘My clear plan is to play for Hoffenheim next season,’ he told Sport Bild earlier this week. ‘I definitely extended my contract in March with the intention to play here next season.
‘I believe I have the biggest opportunity to develop further here. ‘For me, that means playing consistently at a high level with more room for improvement.’
