Pedri is urging Barcelona to recruit a Premier League sensation, labeling him a “cyborg.”
Under Xavi’s management this season, Barcelona has faced consistency issues, currently standing fourth in La Liga, trailing Real Madrid by seven points. Girona, unexpectedly challenging for the title, shares the same points as Real Madrid.

Barcelona might be 10 points adrift when they clash with Las Palmas on Thursday.
Before the upcoming match, Barcelona midfielder Pedri, currently recovering from a muscular injury, expressed his desire to sign Manchester City striker Erling Haaland if given the chance.
“Haaland,” said Pedri during an interview on Ibai Llanos’ Twitch channel.
“The guy is a cyborg. He scores so many goals.”
When asked how the Haaland’s hypothetical signing would work with Robert Lewandowski, Pedri added: “Unfortunately Robert is not going to play until he is 60 and Haaland is much younger.”
Barcelona president Joan Laporta engaged in discussions with the late agent Mino Raiola before Haaland chose to join Manchester City in 2022.
Since then, the Norwegian striker has impressively scored 71 goals in 75 games for the Etihad club, securing victories in the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, and Club World Cup.
Despite Haaland’s success, Xavi has dismissed any immediate plans for Barcelona to pursue him due to ongoing financial challenges faced by the Catalan club.
“Haaland or [Kylian] Mbappe? We can’t think of Haaland or Mbappe to join Barca now. We can’t afford these players, unfortunately,” said Xavi.
“I’m happy with the players I have. We need to reach our best level as at this club we need to be always at top level.”
Real Madrid, Barcelona’s rivals, have been strongly associated with Erling Haaland, alongside PSG superstar Mbappe.
Last year, Haaland’s agent, Rafaela Pimenta, acknowledged that Real Madrid holds a special allure for her clients, describing it as a “dreamland.”
“There is the Premier League, and there is Real Madrid, and Real Madrid has something of its own that makes it the dreamland for the players,” said Pimenta.
“Madrid keeps this magic going. It doesn’t have the league competition but it does have the Champions League.”
