During his tenure at the iconic Bernabeu, he achieved remarkable success, securing two league titles and an impressive four Champions League trophies.
Ronaldo dazzled in Real’s iconic white jersey, netting an astonishing 450 goals in 438 appearances.
However, despite his extraordinary goal-scoring feats in Spain, Perez chose another player as the club’s transfer of the century. And that honour goes to Toni Kroos, according to the player’s agent.
Speaking about Perez, Volke Struth said: “He is an unbelievably pleasant person with a great life story.
“He is entrepreneurial but remains human. He explained to me why Toni Kroos is Real Madrid’s transfer of the century.”
Kroos, now 34, joined Real Madrid in 2014 after departing Bayern Munich, opting against a move to Manchester United.
With an impressive tally of 449 appearances for Los Blancos, he has clinched three league titles and four Champions League triumphs.
Kroos’ enduring presence and contribution to Real’s legacy are evident as he continues to excel in midfield to this day. Despite his age, he has featured in 32 matches across all competitions this season and remains a pivotal figure under Carlo Ancelotti.
This isn’t the first time Kroos’ transfer to Real has been lauded; Granada player Gonzalo Villar once hailed the veteran German as ‘one of the five best midfielders in history’, offering glowing praise for his talent and impact.
“For me, Kroos is one of the five best midfielders in history,” he said, “I am still below him. But he is a great player for me.”
