Marcus Rashford announced on Tuesday that he is ready to leave Manchester United, and no club has been more frequently linked with him than Paris Saint-Germain.
Paris Saint-Germain have now responded to a potential deal for Rashford just as he expresses his desire to depart United.
At 27, Rashford has stated his interest in a ‘new challenge,’ less than a month into the tenure of new manager Ruben Amorim. ..Continue Reading
Amorim left Rashford out of the squad for the Manchester derby on Sunday, a match United won 2-1 thanks to a late comeback.
Rashford’s future has become a hot topic once again. PSG were strongly linked with a move for him in 2022, but the French champions now seem less interested, particularly not in a swap deal.
There have been rumors that United might offer Rashford to PSG in exchange for the out-of-favor forward Randal Kolo Muani, who was considered for a move to Old Trafford last year.
Kolo Muani had an excellent season with Eintracht Frankfurt and represented France at the World Cup.
However, according to the Daily Mail, the idea of a swap deal involving Rashford and Kolo Muani is off the mark. The 26-year-old is under contract with PSG until 2028, having been signed for an initial €75 million (£64.2 million).
Despite this, Kolo Muani’s future at PSG looks uncertain, as he hasn’t started a match since October 6 and was left out of the squad entirely for their recent game against Lyon.
On Tuesday, having been asked about Kolo Muani’s continued absence, PSG boss Luis Enrique said: “I could speak about it, but I wont because my decisions say it all, even if, as I have said, all of my decisions can be changed.”
Rashford could also leave in January, telling Henry Winter during a Christmas visit to his old primary school, Button Lane: “For me, personally, I think I’m ready for a new challenge and the next steps. When I leave it’s going to be ‘no hard feelings’. You’re not going to have any negative comments from me about Manchester United. That’s me as a person.
“If I know that a situation is already bad I’m not going to make it worse. I’e seen how other players have left in the past and I don’t want to be that person. When I leave I’ll make a statement and it will be from me.”
