Marcus Rashford has taken a major step closer to returning after scoring two goals in Manchester United’s behind-closed-doors friendly against Blackburn on Wednesday.
The England international is yet to play any game for the Red devils this campaign after he required shoulder surgery in August.
Rashford had been hampered by the shoulder issue since last November and he chose to undergo surgery after England’s European Championships campaign in the summer.

Just last week, Rashford took part in his first full contact session of the season with his United teammates at Carrington.
And the player was given his first opportunity to face opposition during the international break as he scored a brace in a 3-0 friendly victory against the Championship side.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is now hopeful that Rashford could be in contention to play his first match of the campaign in United’s Premier League fixture against Brendan Rodgers’ Leicester City on October 16.
‘I hope he will be involved against Leicester,’ Solskjaer said last week. ‘He’s been training and physically working really hard, joining in with the group as a floater so no tackles on him.
‘Today was the first day he could be tackled and that’s happened so let’s hope he gets his bearings, finds his movements.
‘There are many, many reasons he could be involved against Leicester.’
