Real Madrid star Vinicius Jr to ‘face two-year ban’ from football

Real Madrid’s star player, Vinicius Junior, is under scrutiny for allegedly violating FIFA’s Code of Ethics, which could result in a two-year suspension from football.

Over the years, Vinicius has solidified his reputation as one of the world’s top players, consistently delivering exceptional performances for Real Madrid. ..Continue Reading

Since his transfer from Flamengo in 2018, the Brazilian winger has amassed an impressive collection of 14 trophies, including two Champions League titles and three La Liga championships.

However, Real Madrid may face the challenge of continuing without their key forward, as he is reportedly being investigated for a breach of FIFA regulations that could lead to a lengthy ban.

This season, Vinicius has been instrumental for the team, scoring 21 goals and providing 15 assists across 47 matches, showcasing his importance to Carlo Ancelotti’s attacking strategy.

With his contract running until 2027 and his market value estimated at $200 million (£150.12m), Real Madrid is likely considering extending his deal despite the ongoing investigation.

The controversy stems from allegations that Vinicius is linked to the acquisition of professional football clubs through ALL Agenciamento Esportivo, a company managed by his father and agent.

Brazilian club Tiberis Holding do Brasil filed a complaint with FIFA’s Ethics Committee, claiming that Vinicius indirectly acquired shares in Athletic Club of São João del Rei, bypassing Tiberis’ right of first refusal.

Following the club’s promotion to Serie B, Tiberis’ owner, Willy Francese, sought to exercise his rights to purchase the majority stake but discovered the shares had been sold directly to ALL.

Despite a court order suspending the transaction, ALL assumed operational control of the club, leading Tiberis to accuse Vinicius of breaching FIFA’s Article 20 and the Spanish Federation’s Article 22, which prohibit active players from owning professional clubs.

Investigations are ongoing, and the outcome could have significant implications for Vinicius and Real Madrid.
