The team is aiming to snap a four-game losing streak following their 2-1 loss to Manchester United at Anfield.
Recent defeats to Crystal Palace, Galatasaray, Chelsea, and United have raised serious questions for Arne Slot. The squad departed for Germany on Tuesday afternoon, with Robertson among those eager to reclaim a starting spot.
The experienced left-back has mostly been replaced by summer arrival Milos Kerkez this season. His frustration was evident in a video clip from Tuesday’s session.
In the footage, Robertson, Wirtz, and Gakpo stood behind a post awaiting instructions. When the coach gave the signal, they ran to a cone on the left to grab a tennis ball and sprinted to a finish line.
Robertson believed he had won, but was told otherwise. He shouted “f*** off!” at the coach and slammed his ball into the ground.
Adding to the frustration, he then watched Kerkez defeat Jeremie Frimpong and Alexis Mac Allister in the next round.
Other drills were more lighthearted, with players sharing laughs and smiles throughout the session.
Later in the day, Robertson and his teammates faced more setbacks as their flight to Germany was delayed due to technical problems.
As a result, Liverpool had to cancel their scheduled pre-match press conference in Frankfurt.
Slot is facing scrutiny for the first time since becoming Liverpool manager, currently enduring the worst run of his coaching career.
His remarks after Harry Maguire’s header sealed United’s win at Anfield drew criticism, with some accusing him of making excuses.
“It’s always difficult to play against a team that defends in a low block, that mainly plays a long ball but it makes it even more difficult if you go 1-0 down after one minute after a player of ours is on the floor,” Slot told Sky Sports.
“I think if you would have told me before the game, against a low block and against a team that plays so many long balls, that we would have created as many chances as we did – I would not have expected us to lose this game.
“I think people forget how many chances we had when we were 1-0 down in the first half because when you’re 1-0 down it’s quite normal that people focus on the ball you play wrong or a moment where you could have played forward and you don’t.”
