Rodrygo breaks silence on Man City transfer after Champions League final

Real Madrid’s dynamic forward, Rodrygo, has confidently addressed speculation about his future amidst rumors of a potential transfer to Manchester City.

At 23 years old, Rodrygo has emerged as a key figure for Los Blancos, boasting a remarkable tally of 17 goals across 51 appearances in various tournaments.

The ex-Santos prodigy earned his place in the starting lineup for the climactic match of the season against Borussia Dortmund, where Real Madrid triumphed 2-0, thanks to strikes from Dani Carvajal and Vinicius Jr.

Post-match, with the rumor mill buzzing about a move to the reigning Premier League titans, Rodrygo was queried on the subject.

Reports from the Spanish outlet MARCA indicate that Guardiola’s squad is eyeing a proposal for the Brazilian star as Real Madrid appears poised to welcome Kylian Mbappe to their ranks.

Yet, for Rodrygo, his focus remains singular.

“This week some media said about bids, clubs, interest. I don’t know anything about it and I’m not interested,” he said.

“And even if there are proposals, I have no idea about that. I’m staying. I’m happy here. How can I leave Real Madrid?”

Speculation surrounding Rodrygo’s tenure at Real Madrid intensified before the Saturday showdown with Dortmund, as he left the door open to a potential departure from the Bernabeu.

“Yes. Well…anything can happen,” he told DAZN. “I have a contract here, but I don’t know.”

The Brazil international added: “The years I’ve been here have been a pleasure for me… I’ve always said I want to be at this club, but let’s see.”

Rodrygo even proceeded to release a statement on the above interview.

“A very annoying situation occurred today, where one of my interviews was completely taken out of context,” he said.

“To be very direct, I am very happy at Real Madrid. I live a dream every day and it does not cross my mind to leave the club of my life. Now we continue with history to make – by 15. Hala Madrid and nothing more.”
