Real Madrid’s Rodrygo confirms Kylian Mbappe deal

Real Madrid’s Rodrygo Goes expressed his belief that a transfer deal bringing Kylian Mbappe from Paris Saint-Germain to Madrid is nearing completion, acknowledging that this perception is primarily based on media reports.

Rodrygo’s confidence coincides with his recent stellar performance, netting two goals against Athletic Club, just ahead of their crucial Champions League encounter with Manchester City.

Due to Vinicius Junior’s suspension due to accumulated yellow cards, Rodrygo started the game on the left flank, while Brahim Diaz took up the right.

As observed in previous instances, this change resulted in an uptick in Rodrygo’s performance.

“I think that, because of Real Madrid’s style, it always favours whoever plays there. I’m happy and today went very well. I want to do the same from the right as well.”

There’s ongoing discussion about Mbappe’s position upon his arrival. Both Vinicius and Rodrygo favor that role, and occasionally, Jude Bellingham has operated from the left side this season.

Rodrygo’s assertion indicates his confidence in an imminent deal.

“I still don’t know about Mbappe, I think it’s close from what everyone says. I’ll put my confidence in you [the media], but I don’t know what’s happening either. There are a lot of us, so let’s see what the coach decides,” he told Cadena SER, also remarking on how Madrid could set up with the Frenchman.

While indications strongly suggest Mbappe’s summer transfer to Real Madrid, the 25-year-old forward remains cryptic about his future.

He stated during the international break that he would announce any news if he had it.

The discussion has shifted from his potential transfer to whether Real Madrid will permit him to participate in the Olympics this summer.
