Why Cristiano Ronaldo can’t open a YouTube or TikTok account

Cristiano Ronaldo, the Portuguese football superstar, is widely regarded as one of the greatest players of all time, with millions of fans and admirers.

Reportedly, the 39-year-old is not allowed to create a YouTube channel due to the massive number of subscribers and views it would attract, which could strain the platform’s finances.

In 2023, Ronaldo created an account on TikTok, quickly amassing millions of followers and garnering millions of views on his videos.

However, TikTok later banned his account without providing a reason, though rumors suggested the platform couldn’t afford the high costs associated with his presence.

These developments lend credence to reports that Ronaldo is unable to establish a YouTube account.

Nevertheless, fans can still engage with CR7 on social media through his Instagram and X (formerly Twitter) accounts, where he has over 600 million and 110 million followers, respectively.

Currently, Ronaldo is playing for Portugal in UEFA Euro 2024, aiming to win the tournament for the second time in his illustrious career.

In their opening match in Group F, Portugal defeated Czechia 2-1, placing them second in the standings.

Turkey leads the group on goal difference after a 3-1 victory over Georgia.
