Cristiano Ronaldo has made feelings clear on controversial transfer after Man Utd call

Cristiano Ronaldo could be on his way back to Manchester United, as speculation grows over his future with Al Nassr.

Ronaldo departed United in November 2022 following a contract termination and joined Al Nassr in January 2023.

Currently 39, Ronaldo is under contract with the Saudi Pro League team until the summer of 2025, with potential for an extension. ..Continue Reading

Last season, he scored an impressive 35 goals in 31 league games, making him the leading scorer for 2023 across selected European leagues. He has continued his strong form this season, netting six goals in eight appearances.

However, reports from Action Ma3 Waleed (via SPORT) suggest that rival club Al Hilal may be eyeing Ronaldo, especially as they contemplate ending Neymar’s contract in January.

Neymar, 31, recently returned from an ACL injury, but Al Hilal is reportedly keen on replacing him with Ronaldo.

Despite Ronaldo’s recent comments to Now in August, indicating that Al Nassr would likely be his final club before retirement, former Manchester United striker Teddy Sheringham has hinted at the possibility of a United reunion if Ruben Amorim takes over as manager on November 11.

Amorim, a former Portuguese teammate of Ronaldo, has built a noteworthy coaching career, despite being the same age as Ronaldo.

Still, Sheringham acknowledged that a Ronaldo return to Old Trafford is unlikely, especially in a coaching role.

He told Flashscore: “Cristiano Ronaldo would be very welcome back at Manchester United under Ruben Amorim.

“But he is on to bigger and better things. I think Ronaldo will follow in the path of David Beckham in doing things away from coaching, higher profile things around the world.

“I’m sure he’d be very, very welcome in any capacity coming back to the club, but I doubt that he’ll be a coach.”
