Cole Palmer struck twice and recent recruit Joao Pedro added another, giving the Premier League side a commanding lead before halftime.
The match was all but decided when PSG’s Joao Neves received a red card late in the game for yanking Marc Cucurella’s hair, leaving the French champions a man down.
At 40 years old, Ronaldo continues his professional career with Al Nassr in the Saudi Pro League, which he joined following the mutual termination of his Manchester United contract during his second stint.
Throughout his journey, the forward has played for Sporting Lisbon, had two spells with United, and also featured for Real Madrid and Juventus before heading to Saudi Arabia.
A five-time Ballon d’Or winner, Ronaldo claimed the Champions League trophy five times while at Manchester United and Real Madrid.
He’s captured domestic league titles in England, Spain, and Italy, and hasn’t shied away from expressing his opinions on the global football landscape.
In past interviews, Ronaldo stated his belief that the Saudi Pro League holds a higher standard than Major League Soccer, making it clear he had no interest in mirroring Lionel Messi’s move to the U.S.
He said: “The USA? No, the Saudi championship is much better than the USA.”
During the same interview, Ronaldo added that he felt the Premier League was the best in the world as he ran through all the European top leagues and felt there was a lack of quality outside of England.
He said: “Europe lost a lot of quality. The only one that is one of the best is the Premier League.
“The Spanish league lost its level, the Portuguese one is not ‘top’, the German one also lost a lot of quality.”
And speaking last year, Ronaldo felt the Saudi Pro League was better than Ligue 1, with PSG being the only team of note.
Ronaldo said: “Saudi League is better than Ligue 1, of course. France only has PSG. The rest are finished.
“Try to sprint in 38, 39 40-degree weather and see.”
Chelsea’s win adds weight to Cristiano Ronaldo’s assertion that the Premier League stands as the strongest league globally, especially with an English club claiming top honors.
PSG, fresh off their maiden Champions League triumph, fell short against Chelsea in the final—further reinforcing Ronaldo’s belief that the Paris outfit is France’s most notable team.
Meanwhile, Al Hilal’s knockout victory over Manchester City and PSG’s dominant 4–0 result against Inter Miami lend credibility to Ronaldo’s opinion that the Saudi league surpasses Major League Soccer in quality.
