remain at Al Nassr for the time being, putting an end to rumors about a potential move elsewhere.

Despite reports linking him with a transfer following his impressive goal tally for the Saudi Pro League club, Ronaldo dismissed suggestions that he might join a team competing in an international tournament.

Following Portugal’s triumph in the UEFA Nations League, he made it clear that he intends to stay at his current club.

Ronaldo will be out of contract at the end of June, but when pressed on his plans said: “Future? It won’t change anything.” He was then asked whether this meant he would be staying at Al Nassr, to which he said: “Yes.”

Ronaldo was taken off in the 88th minute of the Nations League final against Spain in Munich, having earlier netted Portugal’s second equalizer to force the match into a penalty shootout after a 2-2 draw.

From the sidelines, he witnessed his former Real Madrid and Juventus teammate Alvaro Morata miss a decisive penalty, before Ruben Neves stepped up to convert the winning spot-kick, securing Portugal’s triumph.

“It’s always special to lift trophies. Regardless of the fact that we’ve already won this competition, for me it’s like it’s the first,” said Ronaldo, who now has two Nations League winners’ medals to go along with European Championship success in 2016..

“You know how passionate I am about being here, about playing for the national team, about wearing my colours. The suffering, the tears. It’s special.

“For our nation, for the Portuguese people here in the stadium, those who are in Portugal cheering for us… My children are Spanish, so they shout ‘Spain’ to make me angry. So it’s special and I’m very happy.

“Winning for Portugal is always special. I’ve won a lot of things, but there’s nothing like winning for the national team. That’s why I really wanted it. I even said at lunch that this generation deserved it and that we were going to win the final.

“We knew it was going to be difficult, against a team like Spain , and I think we deserved it.

“This gives us confidence to go to the World Cup and see that it’s possible to beat any team in the world.”
