The Argentine-Spanish model and Ronaldo share two daughters, Alana Martina and Bella, and together they also raise Ronaldo’s three other children, who were born through surrogacy.
Despite their strong bond, Ronaldo has not proposed to Rodriguez yet. However, he has clarified his intention to marry her eventually.
The star explained that he is waiting for the right time to take that significant step in their relationship, reassuring Rodriguez and their fans about his plans for the future.
Speaking in the first episode of the 2022 Netflix docuseries “I Am Georgina,” Ronaldo revealed: “I always tell her ‘When we get that click.’
“Like everything with our life, and she knows what I’m talking about. It could be in a year or it could be in six months or it could be in a month.
“I’m 1000% sure that it will happen.”
Earlier in the episode, Rodriguez revealed that her close friends and family regularly tease her about marrying the former Manchester United star after being together for nine years.
She added: “They’re always joking about the wedding, ‘When is the wedding?’
“Since Jennifer Lopez’s song ‘The Ring or When’ came out, they started singing it to me, and well, it’s not up to me”
Following the release of the documentary, numerous fans have begun speculating that Ronaldo and Rodriguez might have secretly gotten engaged or married, fueled by the football icon seemingly hinting at such developments through his social media posts.
In a caption wishing his partner a happy birthday, he referred to Rodriguez as his wife, writing: “For the mother, partner, friend, my wife… happy birthday, love.
“Your light illuminates us and your love infects us,’ he added, alongside a heart emoji.”
Likewise, Ronaldo referred to Rodriguez as his wife while expressing gratitude for her support during his acceptance speech at the 2024 Globe Soccer Awards held in Dubai last December.
At the event, the Al Nassr forward was honored with two prestigious accolades: Best Middle Eastern Player and Top Goalscorer of All Time.
In his acceptance speech, Ronaldo added to the rumours, saying: “It’s a big pleasure to win this trophy. My oldest son is here, my wife [Georgina] is here.”
