After a difficult start to the season under Erik ten Hag, which led to the Dutch manager’s dismissal, Sporting CP’s Ruben Amorim took over as head coach.
To support Amorim’s plans, United are prioritizing reinforcements for their attacking lineup in January.
According to BILD, Manchester United have reached out to Bayern Munich to check on Sane’s availability for a winter move. However, the German winger could potentially leave as a free agent in the summer of 2025.
In United’s current roster, only Antony naturally plays on the right wing, while Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho prefer the left. Thus, United are keen to provide Amorim with a stronger right-wing option.
The report also mentions Arsenal’s manager Mikel Arteta has expressed interest in signing Sane.
While the former Manchester City star may consider extending his contract with Bayern, the 28-year-old hasn’t been a guaranteed starter for Vincent Kompany.
Bayern may be open to selling him in January if a formal offer is made, especially given his potential to leave for free in the summer.
