Paul Scholes objected to Oleksandr Zinchenko moving forward to join Arsenal’s midfield, instructing the full-back to return to his original position.
The Ukrainian player contributed to Arsenal’s 2-1 victory against Nottingham Forest, providing an assist for Gabriel Jesus’ opening goal as the Gunners reclaimed second place in the Premier League.

Although Zinchenko initially played in his usual left-back position, Mikel Arteta urged him to participate in Arsenal’s midfield when they had possession.
Despite being a tactic employed by several Premier League managers, United legend Scholes disapproved of it.
During the game, Scholes wrote on Instagram: ‘A full-back coming into central midfield is an insult to a central midfield player. I think he/she should be told to get the f**k back out there… night.’
Arsenal were comfortably securing a win at the City Ground when Taiwo Awoniyi scored a goal for the hosts.
Following Forest’s brief comeback, Zinchenko and Ben White engaged in an argument and had to be separated by their teammates.
Reacting to the incident, Arteta said: ‘I love it, they demand more from each other and they are not happy with the way they concede that and they are trying to resolve it.
‘It was a bit heated, but that means it is not enough playing the way we played, the result has to be bigger.
‘That’s pushing each other and being not happy conceding and I have to encourage that and promote it in the right way and a respectful way.
‘Sometimes after the game it’s emotional and heated, but I love that the players are pushing each other and demanding excellence.’
