Solskjaer rates Jesse Lingard’s impact at West Ham after leaving Man Utd

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has praised Jesse Lingard’s impact at West Ham United after his loan move from Manchester United.

Lingard played just three matches for the Red devils before he was allowed to move to the London club on a temporary deal in the January.

The 28-year-old has made a straight impact since joining West Ham with four goals and an assist in only six games.

And Solskjaer has been so pleased with Lingard’s outstanding displays since he left Manchester United. ‘Yes, for Jesse it has really worked out,’ said Solskjaer.

‘For David [Moyes] it has really worked out and for us as a club as well because we know that Jesse’s position is a No.10 and we have got Bruno [Fernandes] there, so for me it was a no-brainer to get Jesse a chance to prove himself and to play some football again.

‘And he has been really bright for them and he’s finally back to himself.’

Solskjaer has also praised the impact Amad Diallo has had after the winger scored his first goal for the club in their draw with AC Milan in the Europa League on Thursday.

‘It is a big change for him,’ said Solskjaer. ‘He has come over here by himself but he is coming into training every day and he is working really hard. He know he has a lot to learn.

‘He is an exciting talent but he’ll have to get used to the tempo and the quality and the level he is playing at now.

‘He didn’t play too much for Atalanta either so we are gradually giving him more and more but he has been hungry to learn and his appetite in training has been spot on.’
