Klopp speaks out on Liverpool’s deal for ‘very good player’ Takumi Minamino
Jurgen Klopp has refused to confirm Liverpool’s interest in Red Bull Salzburg attacker Takumi Minamino but concedes he has been impressed by the Japanese.
The German manager, who signed a contract extension until 2024 on Friday, got a first-hand glimpse of Minamino when Salzburg faced off against Liverpool in the Champions League, scoring and assisting away at Anfield.

Minamino seemingly left a big impression, with the Reds reportedly alerted to his bargain £7.25million release clause and setting up a January transfer.
However, Klopp chose not to confirm the rumours – an approach he has always taken in press conferences – though he did say that Minamino is one of many Salzburg players that caught his eye.
