Despite securing the Carabao Cup and FA Cup during his tenure, the team’s underwhelming performances in the Premier League and UEFA Champions League ultimately led to his dismissal.
United subsequently appointed Amorim, known for his impressive work at Sporting Clube de Portugal, as Ten Hag’s successor.
However, the 40-year-old has faced a challenging start, with United currently sitting 15th in the Premier League table, trailing leaders Liverpool by 34 points.
On Monday morning, a teaser for Ten Hag’s first comprehensive interview since leaving United was shared on social media.
In the teaser video, Ten Hag seemed to deliver a cautionary message to Amorim.
He was heard saying: “We’ve had many highs at Man United, but as I always say: there is always room for improvement.
“Good is not good enough.” You can watch the footage below.
Ten Hag disclosed that if there’s one aspect he truly misses about being the United manager, it’s Old Trafford.
Despite speculation about a swift return to management, with clubs like Ajax, Borussia Dortmund, and Feyenoord showing interest, the 55-year-old announced he won’t be resuming managerial duties until the summer.
He added: “I’ve already decided not to take any job until the 1st of July, so until the start of the new season.” The full interview is set to be released on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Man United will be back in Premier League action this week when they face Ipswich Town at Old Trafford on Wednesday.
