Erik ten Hag reveals what he told Man Utd fans after win over Leicester

Erik ten Hag has revealed what he told fans in the Stretford End after the Manchester United head coach was seen gesturing to them after his team’s 3-0 win against Leicester City.

The Red Devils moved to within five points of leaders Arsenal after two goals from Marcus Rashford and a goal from Jadon Sancho saw the club see off Leicester.

Though the scoreline suggested the victory was comfortable, it was anything but for United after a good first-half display from the Foxes.

Ten Hag described his side’s display in the first half as ‘rubbish’ but acknowledged that, with his team playing every three days, there’s bound to be some poor performers.

Before taking on Newcastle at Wembley next Sunday, United have the task of taking on Barcelona in a second leg UEFA Europa League play-off at Old Trafford on Thursday.

With the aggregate score at 2-2, the Red Devils will need to squeeze out every advantage they have in order to make it through to the last-16.

And Ten Hag has revealed that he appealed to United fans to make the difference this Thursday as he left the field.

Asked what he told fans, Ten Hag replied: ‘I said: “Come Thursday, it’s a big game, make sure you are there and we beat Barcelona together”‘
