While Real faced challenges early in the group stage, losing to Lille, AC Milan, and Liverpool, they recovered by advancing to the play-off rounds and securing a dominant 6-3 aggregate win over Manchester City.
Despite rebounding from a rocky start in La Liga, they have recently slipped behind Barcelona on goal difference, having played one game more, with three winless matches in their last five outings.
Speculation began in January that Ancelotti could depart at the end of the season, with Bayer Leverkusen boss Xabi Alonso rumored to be lined up as his successor.
However, journalist Jorge Picon from Relevo has since reported that Ancelotti remains content at Real and expects to continue until his contract expires in 2026.
As with every Real Madrid manager, success in the Champions League is paramount, and failure in the competition could seal the 65-year-old’s fate.
Real currently leads their last-16 tie against Atletico Madrid 2-1 after the first leg but faces a challenging trip to the Wanda Metropolitano for the second leg.
According to Don Balon, three players—Ferland Mendy, Eduardo Camavinga, and Aurelien Tchouameni—have expressed their support for Ancelotti to club president Florentino Perez, hoping he stays beyond the summer.
All three share a strong bond with the Italian and have been key members of the squad this season, though each has experienced periods on the sidelines in the past.
Tchouameni, in particular, has been linked to a potential move to Liverpool, which could become a reality if Ancelotti exits the Bernabeu at the end of the season.
