Tottenham in talks with AC Milan over Piatek

Tottenham have held talks with AC Milan over the signing of Krzysztof Piatek this month. But talks are not at an advanced stage and no formal offers have yet been made for the striker.

It is unclear at the moment if any move would be temporary or permanent.

Spurs are short of striker options after Harry Kane was ruled out until April after undergoing a surgery on a ruptured tendon in his left hamstring.

Piatek signed for AC Milan in a £31m deal from Genoa on a four-and-a-half-year deal in January 2019 and has scored 15 goals in 39 matches.

The 25-year-old forward, who has 10 caps for Poland, originally moved to Genoa for £3.6m from Polish club Cracovia in the summer of 2018.

He was snapped up by AC Milan midway through the campaign after netting 13 Serie A Goals in just 19 games for Genoa.

Piatek has not been as prolific this campaign, scoring only four times in 18 Serie A appearances for Stefano Pioli’s side, who currently are 12th in the table.

Milan bolstered their attacking options this month when they signed Zlatan Ibrahimovic on a six-month deal, with an option to extend by a further year.

Meanwhile, Inter Milan are continuing their attempts to sign Spurs midfielder Christian Eriksen in the coming weeks but agreement is far from been reached.

The Italian side’s chief executive Giuseppe Marotta confirmed earlier this week that they are interested in the Denmark player but said they have had no discussions with Tottenham yet.
