Barcelona manager Ronald Koeman has informed Luis Suarez that he has no future at the club, with the striker’s contract now set to be terminated.
It’s reported that new boss Koeman made it clear to Suarez that he is not in his plans for next campaign in a phone call this morning, and this will serve as one of the major decisions as the club proceed to shape up a rebuild.
Barcelona will now meet with the player’s lawyers to agree to a possible settlement to end his contract early, with Suarez’s current contract expiring next summer.
The La Liga giants signed Luis Suarez from Liverpool in the summer of 2014 after the forward’s fallout from his World Cup antics, for a reported fee of £75m.
Suarez has been a very important player during his six years at Barcelona, with the former Liverpool superstar winning La Liga 4 times titles, the Copa del Rey 4 times and also the Champions League in the 2014/15 season.
While the last couple of years have been a hard one for pretty much every one of Barcelona’s big stars bar Lionel Messi, Suarez has cemented himself as one of the best strikers ever to play for the Catalans.
Suarez is the club’s third-highest scorer, the South American talisman has scored a massive 198 goals and chipped in with an outstanding 109 assists in 283 matches for Barcelona.

The Uruguayan’s last goal for the club came in the embarrassing 8-2 defeat against Bayern Munich in the Champions League.
While Suarez still looks like a very good player, a major part of Koeman’s task in rebuilding the team will be to cut the wage bill, there’s no surprise that players like Suarez is first on the block.
