Man Utd coaching staff concerned by Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s lack of development

Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s lack of development since his £50m move to Manchester United has left the club’s insiders ‘concerned’, with some of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s backroom staff feeling he has failed to apply himself.

The right-back joined United two years ago from Crystal Palace after a sensational debut season for the Eagles in the Premier League.

Wan-Bissaka is widely seen as one of the best one-on-one defenders in England but his attacking quality has been criticised, with opposition clubs often allowing him to come forward with the ball.

The Enland international was largely helpless to stop United’s 5-0 defeat against Liverpool on Sunday and a number of United stars performed worse than Wan-Bissaka.

But the concerns about the player’s lack of progress stem further back than Sunday’s performance and the Athletic claim there’s insiders at Old Trafford who are worried by his development.

Wan-Bissaka has been given a couple of one-on-one sessions to develope his attack but progress has been slow, while it was noted he allowed Robertson to run off him on Sunday.

There are major concerns therefore over the player’s application, both in training sessions and in games.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer attempted to sign Kieran Trippier from Atletico Madrid last summer window and the England star was keen on a move to the theatre of dreams.

But, the La Liga giants were demanding around £40million for the former Tottenham defender.

The Red devils valued Trippier at around £15m-£18m and eventually pulled the plug on the deal.
