Christian Eriksen has blasted the “bulls***” rumours that team-mate Jan Vertonghen slept with his girlfriend and sparked a huge dressing-room bust-up with Harry Kane.
The Tottenham playmaker and girlfriend Sabrina Kvist have been together since 2012 – but rumours recently surfaced that she had been unfaithful with Vertonghen.
But both Eriksen and married Tottenham pal Vertonghen, have taken to Twitter to blast the reports, untrue gossip.
The Denmark international, quote-tweeting one of the fake reports, simply wrote the word, “bulls***”, and completed it with a sleeping emoji.
And as soon as he posted that, Vertonghen quote tweeted that with a series of emojis, including a heart next to Christian Eriksen’s Twitter handle.
The actual tweet spreading the fake news read: “Christian Eriksen’s wife has reportedly been caught having an affair with his team-mate Jan Vertonghen.”
That tweet also claimed the Tottenham team were involved in a bust-up – with Harry Kane said to be fully involved – attaching pictures of Vertonghen sporting a black eye.
Eriksen was all set to leave Tottenham this summer window, with Real Madrid interested – but the move eventually fell apart, with claims citing personal reasons.
Both Vertonghen and Eriksen played in Tottenham’s horror night in the Champions League as they were ripped apart 7-2 by a rampant Bayern Munich.
