Ilkay Gundogan says he was flooded with questions from his City team-mates about Timo Werner after the German forward completed a move to Chelsea.
Werner attracted huge attention from European big sides after a spectacular season with RB Leipzig in which he scored 34 goals in 45 matches.
But the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on Liverpool’s finances saw the Reds pull out of a deal and Frank Lampard lured Werner to Stamford Bridge.
Werner officially became a Chelsea player on July 1 after they activated his £47.5m release clause at Leipzig and he trained with his new team last month.
Timo Werner believes his playing style is ‘perfect’ for the Premier League and Gundogan has revealed that City’s squad are aware of the player’s talents.
‘Believe me: Everyone at City knows about Timo Werner,’ the Man City midfielder told Sport Bild. ‘Many of my team-mates asked what kind of guy he is. ‘He deserves respect.’
Christian Pulisic says Werner has already made an impression with his displays in training and has tipped him for big things in England.

‘He’s a very dangerous player,’ Pulisic told Chelsea’s official website. ‘I think he has some similar qualities to me and some of the attacking guys we have.
‘He’s obviously very quick and very good in front of goal. ‘He seems like a very humble guy. He wants to come in and wants to work.
‘Playing against him has been a great experience and it’s going to be nice to have him on my team as well so I’m definitely looking forward to that.’
