Martinez fires exit warning to Arsenal ahead of next season

Emiliano Martinez

Emiliano Martinez has sent warning to Arsenal that if he doesn’t get enough game time next campaign he will be looking to leave.

Martinez has been at the club for a decade, waiting patiently for his opportunity to prove his worth with the gunners as the No.1 shirt.

The chance presented itself after the club’s No.1 goalkeeper Bernd Leno sustained an injury in their 2-1 defeat to Brighton.

Since then, Martinez has been superb in goal and has guven Mikel Arteta a real selection headache ahead of next season.

Leno has been the gunners’ most dependable player over the last two campaigns, aside from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Given the outstanding displays of his former understudy, the German goalie isn’t guaranteed to walk straight back into the Arsenal starting lineup when he returns from injury.

However, if he does, Emiliano Martinez has conceded that he will be looking to leave the Emirates.

‘I demonstrated to the club that I can play and also when I return in the next season I need to play more games,’ the 27-year-old told Argentinian radio station Continental.

‘And that’s the only way that I will stay at Arsenal. If I don’t play for Arsenal I would clearly move on.’
