Bellingham reveals message from Man Utd star ahead of Champions League final

Jude Bellingham has shared that he received a “little message” from Jadon Sancho ahead of the Champions League final.

Dubbed the “Jude Bellingham derby,” the showdown at Wembley on Saturday will see Real Madrid face Borussia Dortmund, with the winner claiming the title of the best team in Europe.

A victory for Real Madrid would solidify Bellingham’s reputation as one of the world’s top players, especially after being named La Liga Player of the Year following their title win.

In his first season with Los Blancos, the England international has scored 23 goals and provided 12 assists in 39 appearances across all competitions. His impressive form could also propel England to success at Euro 2024.

Before joining the Three Lions, Bellingham will face his former Dortmund teammates for the first time since his departure last summer in the Champions League final.

In an interview with Real Madrid’s media channel, Bellingham was asked if he had spoken to any Dortmund players ahead of the Wembley clash.

‘Not been speaking with any of them this week,’ the 20-year-old initially replied.

‘When we first went through I got a little message from Jadon. So I spoke with Sancho. ‘Just saying, “I’ll see you there”, and all those kinds of things.

‘Jadon’s always been someone who’s taken me under his wing when I first arrived at Dortmund. He’s a really good guy. He’s helped me a lot.’

Sancho rejoined Dortmund in January on loan from Manchester United after a public fallout with Erik ten Hag led to his exclusion from the first team.

In recent months, Sancho has recaptured the form he displayed before his move to Old Trafford, reminiscent of his 18-month stint with Bellingham, during which they won the 2021 German Cup together.

Both were part of England’s Euro 2020 squad, but Sancho won’t be joining the team for Euro 2024, having missed out on a spot in Gareth Southgate’s preliminary squad.
