Ferdinand names ‘better’ player out of Jude Bellingham & Cole Palmer

Manchester United icon Rio Ferdinand has showered praise on Cole Palmer for his impressive attacking prowess, while acknowledging Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham as the superior player between the two.

Both athletes have showcased remarkable performances for their clubs throughout the current season.

Bellingham has notably contributed 16 goals and four assists in La Liga, along with four goals and assists each in the UEFA Champions League.

On the other hand, Palmer has demonstrated his brilliance within a struggling Blues team, currently positioned 11th in the Premier League standings.

This season, Palmer has tallied an impressive 13 goals and eight assists in the English top-flight, thus slightly surpassing Bellingham in terms of goal contributions within their respective leagues.

Comparing the two, Ferdinand said on his podcast: “I think it’s under 21 years old, he’s got the most goal involvements over Jude Bellingham in Europe. It’s a fact, he’s doing it, he’s doing it.

“I’m not saying he’s better than Jude. He’s nowhere near as good as Jude in my eyes. For every one goal that Jude scores, most other clubs it’s probably three or four goals it counts as, you know what I mean? Because its Bernabeu, it’s at the Bernabeu, it’s at Real, it’s different.”

Bellingham has justified the hefty €103 million fee that Real Madrid invested in him when they acquired him in the summer of 2023.

His impactful performances have been instrumental in propelling Los Blancos to the summit of the league table, where his team currently enjoys an eight-point lead over second-placed Barcelona.
