Chelsea are reportedly planning a last-ditch move for Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez.
The European champions have already completed their major transfer this month by signing Romelu Lukaku in a £97.5 million deal from Inter Milan.
Chelsea have also targeted Sevilla centre-back Jules Kounde this summer but are looking to sell Kurt Zouma to West Ham before they go ahead with that deal.
But according to The Telegraph, the Blues are also looking at the possibility of a late move to sign Saul from Atletico Madrid.
However, the report claims that Chelsea’s bid to sign the Spanish player hinges on whether they can trim Thomas Tuchel’s other midfield options who are not part of the first-team plans at all.
Earlier this summer, reports claimed that Manchester United had been in discussions with Saul’s agent to discuss a potential move to the club.
It’s believed that Atletico were willing to allow the Spain international to leave if their €45m (£38m) valuation was met.

Saul has already played in both of Atletico’s matches in the new La Liga campaign so far and the Spanish champions have registered victories against Celta Vigo and Elche.
Chelsea, meanwhile are still looking to sell a number of fringe players before the window closes. Tiemoue Bakayoko has agreed to take a pay cut in order to re-join AC Milan on loan.
Zappacosta is also returning to the Italian Serie A as he will join Atalanta on a permanent deal – And Chelsea are also looking to offload both Ross Barkley and Danny Drinkwater.
