Cristiano Ronaldo and Dani Carvajal returned to full training on Tuesday ahead of Madrid’s final League game of the season.
Carvajal has not played since picking up a hamstring injury in April, while Ronaldo has missed Real’s last two matches due to an ankle injury.
Liverpool take on Real in the Champions League final this month and fans were hoping Ronaldo and Carvajal would miss the encounter.
Liverpool are the heavy underdogs for the final, as Real aim to claim their third straight Champions League trophy.
Ronaldo has been Real’s stand-out player in the Champions League with 15 goals and his return to training will be a massive boost to the team.
Carvajal and Ronaldo are both now available for selection against Villarreal and are on track to start against Liverpool on May 26.
‘The Real Madrid squad completed their first training session of the week as preparations ahead of Saturday’s La Liga encounter against Villarreal at the Estadio de la Ceramica got under way,’ a Real statement read.
‘Cristiano Ronaldo and Dani Carvajal trained alongside their teammates, which meant that Zinedine Zidane had a full squad available to him.
‘The workout began with a circuit consisting of three different exercises that combined fitness and ball work.
‘Next up, the madridistas worked on possession and pressure and the session was rounded off with several games on reduced-sized pitches. Under-19s goalkeeper Dario was drafted in for the session.’
