Luis Enrique reveals who he wants to win the Premier League title

Luis Enrique, the manager of Paris Saint-Germain, is rooting for Mikel Arteta to secure the Premier League title with Arsenal, yet he acknowledges the formidable challenge posed by the reigning champions, Manchester City.

Despite squandering a significant lead last season and finishing five points adrift of Man City, Arsenal has rebounded impressively in their current pursuit.

With 20 wins in 28 matches, they are at the summit of the league based on goal difference, with just ten fixtures left as they strive to claim their first Premier League crown since 2004.

Liverpool, who share the top spot with Arsenal at 64 points, have displayed relentless form under Jurgen Klopp in what is his concluding season with the club.

Manchester City, having dominated the English championship in five of the previous six years, is hot on the heels of both Arsenal and Liverpool, trailing by a mere point in third place.

Former Barcelona and Real Madrid luminary, Enrique, holds aspirations for Arteta to end Arsenal’s lengthy wait for the title, but he anticipates that Pep Guardiola will once again triumph in the Premier League.

‘I would like it if Mikel Arteta won it with Arsenal,’ Enrique, who has been in charge of Liguev1 side PSG since the summer of 2023, said on Twitch.

‘Otherwise, I’d like it to be Pep Guardiola, who has already won a lot. If not that, then it’s Aston Villa’s Unai Emery.

‘But I think Manchester City will win it, they are the favourites in my opinion.’

The contours of the Premier League title race could become more defined following the March 31st clash, where table-toppers Arsenal are set to challenge Manchester City at Etihad Stadium.

Earlier this season, Gabriel Martinelli clinched a victory for Arsenal with a decisive late goal, contrasting with last season’s match at the same venue where Manchester City secured a commanding 4-1 win.
